Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Rinse green beans under cold water and trim the ends.
- Thoroughly dry the green beans using a kitchen towel or salad spinner.
- In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk to combine.
- Add the dried green beans to the bowl with the garlic mixture and toss until evenly coated.
- If your air fryer requires it, preheat to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange green beans in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 8-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until tender-crisp and slightly browned.
- Transfer to a serving dish. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese (if using) and drizzle with lemon juice (if using). Serve immediately.
Notes
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary.
- Drying the green beans is crucial for crispiness.
- Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer and the thickness of the green beans.
- Experiment with different seasonings like garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.
- For a sweet and tangy twist, drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer or oven to restore crispness.
