Instructions
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, black pepper, and salt.
- Whisk the ingredients together until well blended.
- Add the cubed pork belly to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the pork belly and marinade to a resealable plastic bag.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, but for best results, let it marinate for 4 to 6 hours or overnight.
- After marinating, take the pork belly out of the refrigerator.
- Remove the pork belly pieces from the marinade and discard the marinade.
- Take the soaked wooden skewers and thread the marinated pork belly cubes onto them, fitting about 4-5 pieces per skewer.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange the skewers in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
- Cook the skewers for 15-20 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
- After 15 minutes, check the skewers for doneness. The internal temperature should reach at least 145°F (63°C).
- If they need more time, continue cooking in 2-3 minute increments.
- Carefully remove the skewers from the air fryer.
- Place the skewers on a serving platter.
