Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Rinse the chicken breasts under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub this mixture all over the chicken breasts.
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- In a medium bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, milk, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until well mixed.
- Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Pour the creamy sauce over the seared chicken in the skillet, ensuring each piece is well coated.
- Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese over the chicken and sauce. Optionally, add breadcrumbs for a crunchy topping.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken is fully cooked. Alternatively, cut into the chicken to check that the juices run clear.
- Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
- Optionally, sprinkle fresh parsley over the top and serve with your favorite sides.
