Crispy Chicken Pop Bites are a delicious snack or appetizer, perfect for any gathering. Coated in a seasoned breading and fried to golden perfection, they pair wonderfully with your favorite dipping sauces. Enjoy these bite-sized treats at parties or game days!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Your favorite dipping sauce (ranch, honey mustard, or BBQ sauce)

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces, aiming for about 1-inch cubes.
  2. Place the chicken pieces in a large mixing bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  4. Sprinkle the seasoned flour over the chicken and toss gently until all pieces are coated.
  5. Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one for the seasoned flour, one for the eggs, and one for the breadcrumb mixture.
  6. In the second bowl, whisk the two large eggs until well combined.
  7. In the third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  8. Dip each floured chicken piece into the egg wash, letting excess drip off.
  9. Transfer the chicken to the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to ensure full coating. Shake off excess breadcrumbs.
  10. Place the breaded chicken bites on a plate or baking sheet.
  11. In a large skillet, pour enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom by about 1/4 inch and heat over medium-high heat.
  12. Once the oil is hot, add the breaded chicken bites in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
  13. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
  14. Use a slotted spoon to transfer cooked chicken bites to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  15. Arrange the chicken pop bites on a serving platter and serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
  16. Optionally, garnish with fresh herbs or extra Parmesan cheese for presentation.
  17. Enjoy with friends and family!

Notes

  • For a healthier option, you can bake the chicken bites at 400°F (200°C) for about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • These bites can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before frying.
