Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound of kielbasa sausage, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup of barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup of honey
- 1/4 cup of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Start by cutting the kielbasa sausage into bite-sized pieces, aiming for about 1-inch pieces for even cooking.
- Measure out the barbecue sauce, honey, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard to streamline the cooking process.
- In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- In a medium bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, honey, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard until well combined.
- Sprinkle in the dry spice mixture and stir to ensure even distribution throughout the sauce.
- Plug in your crock pot and set it to low heat.
- Place the cut kielbasa pieces into the crock pot, spreading them out evenly.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the kielbasa and gently stir to coat each piece.
- Cover the crock pot and cook on low for about 4 hours, or on high for about 2 hours.
- After cooking, check that the kielbasa is heated through and coated in a thick sauce. For a thicker sauce, cook uncovered on high for an additional 30 minutes to an hour.
- Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley on top for color and freshness.
- Get your serving dish ready, using a platter or bowl.
- Use a slotted spoon to transfer the kielbasa bites to your serving dish, leaving excess sauce behind.
- Provide toothpicks for easy serving.
- Serve with sides like coleslaw, potato salad, or crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
Notes
- For added heat, adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your preference.
- These kielbasa bites can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for easy reheating.
- They are perfect for parties, game days, or as a fun family dinner.
