Iced Coffee Tips: How to Make the Perfect Brew Every Time

  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

Enjoy a refreshing iced coffee that’s easily customizable to suit your taste. This simple recipe combines brewed coffee, milk, and your choice of sweeteners and flavors, making it a perfect treat for any coffee lover on warm days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of freshly brewed coffee (cooled to room temperature)
  • 1 cup of milk (dairy or non-dairy, your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: flavored syrups (vanilla, caramel, hazelnut)
  • Optional: whipped cream for topping
  • Optional: cocoa powder or cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brew a strong cup of coffee using a coffee maker or French press. Let it cool to room temperature, or chill it in the fridge for 15-20 minutes. Strain through a fine mesh sieve or coffee filter if desired.
  2. In a small bowl, mix sugar with a couple of tablespoons of hot water until dissolved. Add this mixture to the cooled coffee and stir well. If using flavored syrups, add them now.
  3. Pour your choice of milk into a separate container. Optionally, froth the milk for a creamy texture.
  4. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour the sweetened coffee over the ice, filling the glass halfway. Gently pour the milk over the coffee to create a layered effect. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Top with whipped cream if desired, and sprinkle cocoa powder or cinnamon on top. Drizzle chocolate or caramel syrup for an extra treat.
  6. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon. Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to a day, adding fresh ice and milk when ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • Experiment with different flavored syrups or add-ins like chocolate syrup for a mocha twist.
  • For a healthier option, consider using natural sweeteners like honey or agave syrup.
  • To avoid watered-down coffee, make coffee ice cubes by freezing leftover coffee.
