Description
Enjoy a refreshing iced coffee that’s easily customizable to suit your taste. This simple recipe combines brewed coffee, milk, and your choice of sweeteners and flavors, making it a perfect treat for any coffee lover on warm days.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of freshly brewed coffee (cooled to room temperature)
- 1 cup of milk (dairy or non-dairy, your choice)
- 2 tablespoons of sugar (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Optional: flavored syrups (vanilla, caramel, hazelnut)
- Optional: whipped cream for topping
- Optional: cocoa powder or cinnamon for garnish
Instructions
- Brew a strong cup of coffee using a coffee maker or French press. Let it cool to room temperature, or chill it in the fridge for 15-20 minutes. Strain through a fine mesh sieve or coffee filter if desired.
- In a small bowl, mix sugar with a couple of tablespoons of hot water until dissolved. Add this mixture to the cooled coffee and stir well. If using flavored syrups, add them now.
- Pour your choice of milk into a separate container. Optionally, froth the milk for a creamy texture.
- Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour the sweetened coffee over the ice, filling the glass halfway. Gently pour the milk over the coffee to create a layered effect. Stir gently to combine.
- Top with whipped cream if desired, and sprinkle cocoa powder or cinnamon on top. Drizzle chocolate or caramel syrup for an extra treat.
- Serve immediately with a straw or spoon. Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to a day, adding fresh ice and milk when ready to enjoy.
Notes
- Experiment with different flavored syrups or add-ins like chocolate syrup for a mocha twist.
- For a healthier option, consider using natural sweeteners like honey or agave syrup.
- To avoid watered-down coffee, make coffee ice cubes by freezing leftover coffee.
