Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups water
- 4 Passion Tea bags (recommended: Tazo Passion Tea)
- 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
- 2 cups cold water (for dilution)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh lemon slices (for garnish)
- Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, remove from heat and add the 4 Passion Tea bags, ensuring they are fully submerged.
- Cover the saucepan and let the tea steep for 10-15 minutes, adjusting steeping time for desired strength.
- After steeping, remove the tea bags and stir in 1 cup of sugar while the tea is still warm to help it dissolve.
- Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Squeeze fresh lemons to obtain about 1 cup of lemon juice. Rolling the lemons on the counter before cutting helps release more juice.
- Strain the lemon juice through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp (optional).
- In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice with 2 cups of cold water and stir well.
- Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness with more sugar or simple syrup as desired.
- Once the tea is chilled, stir it well.
- Slowly pour the chilled passion tea into the pitcher with the lemonade, stirring gently to combine.
- Taste the mixture and adjust strength by adding more tea or cold water if needed.
- Fill tall glasses with ice cubes (large cubes are recommended).
- Pour the iced passion tea limonade over the ice, filling each glass about three-quarters full.
- Garnish with a slice of fresh lemon on the rim and a few mint leaves for added freshness.
- For an extra touch, consider adding whole berries or edible flowers for a beautiful presentation.
- Transfer any remaining iced passion tea limonade back into a pitcher or sealed container.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, stirring well before serving again.
Notes
- Adjust the sugar to your taste preference; you can also use honey or agave syrup as alternatives.
- For a fun twist, try adding other fruits like strawberries or raspberries to the drink.
