  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 6-8 glasses 1x

Description

A refreshing Iced Passion Tea Limonade combines the vibrant flavors of passion tea and lemonade, making it a perfect thirst-quencher for warm days. This delightful drink balances sweet and tangy notes, ideal for gatherings or a relaxing afternoon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 Passion Tea bags (recommended: Tazo Passion Tea)
  • 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 2 cups cold water (for dilution)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh lemon slices (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the 4 Passion Tea bags, ensuring they are fully submerged.
  3. Cover the saucepan and let the tea steep for 10-15 minutes, adjusting steeping time for desired strength.
  4. After steeping, remove the tea bags and stir in 1 cup of sugar while the tea is still warm to help it dissolve.
  5. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Squeeze fresh lemons to obtain about 1 cup of lemon juice. Rolling the lemons on the counter before cutting helps release more juice.
  7. Strain the lemon juice through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp (optional).
  8. In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice with 2 cups of cold water and stir well.
  9. Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness with more sugar or simple syrup as desired.
  10. Once the tea is chilled, stir it well.
  11. Slowly pour the chilled passion tea into the pitcher with the lemonade, stirring gently to combine.
  12. Taste the mixture and adjust strength by adding more tea or cold water if needed.
  13. Fill tall glasses with ice cubes (large cubes are recommended).
  14. Pour the iced passion tea limonade over the ice, filling each glass about three-quarters full.
  15. Garnish with a slice of fresh lemon on the rim and a few mint leaves for added freshness.
  16. For an extra touch, consider adding whole berries or edible flowers for a beautiful presentation.
  17. Transfer any remaining iced passion tea limonade back into a pitcher or sealed container.
  18. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, stirring well before serving again.

Notes

  • Adjust the sugar to your taste preference; you can also use honey or agave syrup as alternatives.
  • For a fun twist, try adding other fruits like strawberries or raspberries to the drink.
