  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

This tropical smoothie blends fresh pineapple, strawberries, and banana with creamy Greek yogurt and coconut water for a refreshing treat. Perfect for breakfast or a snack, it’s a nutritious way to enjoy your fruits!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks (or frozen)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced (or frozen)
  • 1 banana, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
  • 1 cup coconut water (or regular water)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional, for added nutrition)
  • Ice cubes (optional, for a thicker smoothie)

Instructions

  1. Gather Your Ingredients: Collect all the ingredients listed above. Ensure your fruits are fresh and ripe for the best flavor. If using frozen fruits, you can skip the ice cubes later.
  2. Prepare the Pineapple: Cut fresh pineapple into chunks or measure out a cup of frozen pineapple and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Strawberries: Rinse strawberries under cold water, remove the green tops, and slice them in half. Measure out a cup of frozen strawberries if using.
  4. Slice the Banana: Peel and slice the banana into rounds for easier blending.
  5. Measure the Yogurt and Coconut Water: Scoop out one cup of Greek yogurt and pour one cup of coconut water into a measuring cup. Substitute with regular milk or almond milk if desired.
  6. Optional Ingredients: Measure out one tablespoon of honey for sweetness and one tablespoon of chia seeds for added nutrition.
  7. Add Ingredients to Blender: Start by adding Greek yogurt to the blender, followed by pineapple chunks, sliced strawberries, and banana.
  8. Pour in the Coconut Water: Add coconut water (or your chosen liquid) to help blend the ingredients smoothly.
  9. Add Sweetener and Chia Seeds: Drizzle in honey and add chia seeds if using.
  10. Blend the Ingredients: Secure the lid and blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high speed for about 30-60 seconds until smooth and creamy. Adjust consistency with more liquid if needed.
  11. Check the Consistency: Stop the blender and check. For a thicker smoothie, add ice cubes and blend again. For a thinner consistency, add more coconut water or water.
  12. Taste the Smoothie: Taste and adjust sweetness with more honey if desired.
  13. Adjust Texture: Add more ice for thickness or more liquid for a thinner consistency, blending until smooth.
  14. Prepare Your Glasses: Chill your glasses in the freezer for a few minutes if desired.
  15. Pour the Smoothie: Pour the smoothie into prepared glasses, using a spatula to scrape the blender.
  16. Garnish (Optional): Garnish with a slice of pineapple, whole strawberries, or a sprinkle of chia seeds.
  17. Serve Immediately: Enjoy your smoothie fresh while cold and refreshing.
  18. Storing Leftovers: Store any leftover smoothie in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Shake or stir before consuming.

Notes

  • For a vegan option, use plant-based yogurt and skip the honey.
  • Feel free to customize the fruits based on your preference or seasonal availability.
  • Adding spinach or kale can boost the nutritional value without altering the flavor significantly.
