  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 cocktail 1x

Description

Ranch Water is a light and refreshing cocktail made with tequila, fresh lime juice, and sparkling mineral water. Ideal for warm days or social gatherings, this easy-to-make drink offers a zesty flavor that’s perfect for sipping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces of tequila (preferably blanco)
  • 1 ounce of fresh lime juice
  • 4 ounces of Topo Chico (or any sparkling mineral water)
  • Fresh lime wedges for garnish
  • Salt for rimming the glass (optional)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Choose a highball glass or any tall glass of your preference.
  2. (Optional) Rim the glass with salt by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into salt.
  3. Cut a lime in half and squeeze out 1 ounce of fresh lime juice using a juicer or your hands.
  4. Pour 2 ounces of blanco tequila into a cocktail shaker or directly into your glass.
  5. Add the freshly squeezed lime juice to the tequila. If using a shaker, give it a gentle shake; if mixing in the glass, stir with a spoon.
  6. Fill the glass with ice cubes, preferably large ones to minimize dilution.
  7. Open a bottle of Topo Chico (or your chosen sparkling mineral water) and pour 4 ounces over the ice.
  8. Gently stir the drink to combine all ingredients without losing too much carbonation.
  9. Garnish with a fresh lime wedge on the rim or drop it into the drink.
  10. Serve immediately while cold and bubbly.

Notes

  • Flavor Variations: Feel free to muddle fresh herbs like mint or basil, or add a splash of fruit juice for a twist.
  • Adjusting Strength: Modify the amount of tequila or sparkling water to suit your taste.
  • Batch Preparation: Multiply the ingredients for a pitcher to serve at gatherings.
  • Tequila Quality: Use a good quality blanco tequila for the best flavor.
  • Leftovers: Store any leftovers in the fridge, but consume quickly as carbonation will diminish.
  • Pairing Suggestions: Pairs well with light snacks like guacamole and chips.
