  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

This Strawberry Banana Smoothie combines fresh strawberries, ripe bananas, and creamy Greek yogurt with a touch of lemon for a refreshing and nutritious drink. Ideal for breakfast or a quick snack, it’s delicious and easy to make!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 medium ripe banana, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed for best flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes (optional, for a thicker smoothie)
  • Fresh strawberries and lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash the Strawberries: Rinse the fresh strawberries under cold water, hull them, and slice into halves or quarters.
  2. Slice the Banana: Peel and slice the banana into rounds.
  3. Measure the Yogurt and Milk: Scoop out 1 cup of Greek yogurt and measure 1 cup of almond milk (or your preferred milk).
  4. Prepare the Sweetener: Measure out 2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup, adjusting to taste.
  5. Juice and Zest the Lemon: Squeeze 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and zest the lemon to get about 1 teaspoon of zest.
  6. Combine Ingredients in Blender: In a high-speed blender, add the strawberries, banana, Greek yogurt, almond milk, sweetener, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Add ice cubes if desired.
  7. Blend Until Smooth: Blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high, for about 30-60 seconds until smooth. Adjust consistency with more almond milk if needed.
  8. Taste and Adjust: Taste the smoothie and add more sweetener or lemon juice if desired, then blend again briefly.
  9. Prepare Your Glasses: Rim glasses with sugar or lemon zest if desired.
  10. Pour the Smoothie: Pour the smoothie into prepared glasses, scraping down the sides of the blender.
  11. Garnish: Garnish with fresh strawberries and lemon slices, and add a sprig of mint if desired.
  12. Enjoy Immediately: Serve fresh and enjoy the vibrant flavors!

Notes

  • For a thicker smoothie, add more ice cubes or use frozen fruit.
  • Adjust the sweetness according to your preference.
  • Smoothies are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
