Strawberry Swirl Daiquiri: The Ultimate Summer Cocktail Recipe

  • Total Time: 12 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A refreshing Strawberry Swirl Daiquiri with layered flavors and a beautiful presentation, perfect for summer parties or relaxing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ounces white rum (smooth, aged rum preferred)
  • 2 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup strawberry puree (homemade, recipe below)
  • 1/4 cup grenadine
  • Ice cubes (enough to fill blender)
  • Lime wedges (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Wash and hull about a pint of fresh strawberries.
  2. Place the hulled strawberries into a blender or food processor.
  3. Blend until completely smooth. Scrape down the sides as needed.
  4. (Optional) Strain through a fine-mesh sieve for a super smooth puree.
  5. Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  6. Combine rum, lime juice, simple syrup, and frozen strawberries in a blender.
  7. Blend on high speed until completely smooth and creamy. Add more ice if too thin, or a splash of water if too thick.
  8. Drizzle grenadine around the inside of a serving glass (hurricane or margarita glass). Tilt and rotate to create a swirl.
  9. Gently spoon or pour strawberry puree into the bottom of the glass, on top of the grenadine swirl.
  10. Carefully pour the blended daiquiri mixture into the glass, on top of the strawberry puree.
  11. Garnish with a fresh strawberry and a lime wedge.

Notes

  • Adjust the simple syrup to your preferred sweetness.
  • Experiment with other frozen berries like raspberries or blueberries.
  • Add a splash of orange liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec) for citrus complexity.
  • For a mocktail, omit the rum and replace it with sparkling water or club soda.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or jalapeño slices for a spicy kick.
  • Chill the strawberry puree and daiquiri mixture separately before assembling for a more pronounced layered effect.
  • Rim the glass with sugar or salt before adding the grenadine swirl.
  • Use frozen strawberries as a garnish to keep the daiquiri cold.
  • For an even more intense strawberry flavor, try using strawberry-infused rum.
  • Always use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.
