Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup of water and 1 teaspoon of dried culinary lavender.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. After 5 minutes, remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
  5. Strain the lavender infusion through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or measuring cup, discarding the lavender buds. Set this infusion aside.
  6. Brew 1 shot of espresso using an espresso machine, or brew 1/2 cup of strong coffee using your preferred method.
  7. If desired, add sugar to the hot coffee and stir until dissolved.
  8. In a clean saucepan, pour in 1 cup of milk and place it over medium heat.
  9. Heat the milk gently, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching, until it is hot but not boiling.
  10. Remove from heat and froth the milk using a milk frother or by whisking vigorously by hand.
  11. In a large mug, pour in the shot of espresso (or strong brewed coffee).
  12. Add 1 tablespoon of vanilla syrup to the coffee, adjusting sweetness to taste.
  13. Pour in the lavender infusion and stir gently to combine.
  14. Slowly pour the frothed milk over the coffee mixture, allowing the foam to sit on top.
