  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

Warm up with this White Chocolate Chai Latte, a comforting mix of spiced chai tea and creamy white chocolate. Topped with whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon, it’s the perfect treat for chilly days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups milk (whole, almond, or oat milk)
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons loose chai tea or 2 chai tea bags
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of loose chai tea or 2 chai tea bags.
  2. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. If using loose tea, strain it out after simmering. If using tea bags, simply remove them from the saucepan.
  4. In another saucepan, pour in 2 cups of your chosen milk.
  5. Heat the milk over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching. Heat until hot but not boiling.
  6. Once warm, add in the white chocolate chips. Stir continuously until melted and smooth (about 2-3 minutes).
  7. Add in the sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, and ground cardamom. Stir well to combine and adjust sweetness if needed.
  8. Pour the prepared chai tea into the saucepan with the milk mixture. Stir gently to combine.
  9. Heat the combined mixture for another minute or two, ensuring it is warm and well blended without boiling.
  10. Using a ladle, pour the latte into your favorite mugs.
  11. Top with a generous dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
  12. Sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon on top for garnish.

Notes

  • Adjust spices according to your taste; add more ginger for a spicier kick or experiment with nutmeg or cloves.
  • For an iced version, let the chai and milk cool before serving over ice.
